# Product Compliance: Consumables, Cosmetics & UL Electrical Guidelines

To protect shoppers and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations, specific product categories must meet strict safety guidelines before being placed on store shelves.
### Consumables, Food & Cosmetics
* **Cottage Foods & Pre-Packaged Goods:** All edible goods must strictly follow the[Colorado Cottage Foods Act Rules](https://createmarketplace.jotform.com/build/262794669935984#preview). Products must be properly packaged and labeled with all ingredients and allergen warnings.
* **Permits & Verification:** Soaps, lotions, cosmetics, and topical products must be manufactured in compliant facilities. Proof of required health permits or testing documentation must be provided upon request.
### Electrical Displays & Open Flame Rules
* **UL Certification & Timers:** Plug-in displays or electrical items must be UL-certified and free of wiring hazards. All plug-in display lights **must be connected to an automatic timer** set to run strictly during store operating hours. Overnight operation is prohibited.
* **Prohibited Items:** Open flames, burning incense, unapproved heating elements, and hazardous chemical mixing are strictly prohibited on store premises.
