How to Generate & Print Barcode Tags for In-Store Sales

Overview
Every item displayed in the storefront must have a valid, flat, readable barcode tag attached prior to shelf placement. Store staff use POS laser scanners to process transactions and assign revenue to your vendor account.

Printing Barcode Tags

  1. From the Garnet Vendor Portal, go to Products.
  2. Select the products or variants you need to tag.
  3. Click the Print Barcodes or Export Barcodes action button.
  4. Select your label format size and print using standard sticky label sheets or cardstock tag paper.

Mandatory Tagging & Barcode Rules

  • Placement: Apply the barcode label flatly on the product or hanging tag. Do not place barcodes on curved edges, corners, or textured surfaces where scanner lasers cannot read them.
  • Tag Protection: Do not crease, fold, bend, or write over the barcode pattern.
  • Non-Scanning Item Warning: Per Section 8.1.f of the Vendor Agreement, store staff will not perform manual inventory lookups or tag tracing for non-scanning tags. If an item lacks a readable barcode or fails to scan at checkout due to tag damage or poor placement, 100% of the sale proceeds are retained as an administrative fee, and zero commission or payout credit will be issued.
